Today was a busy day of touring a couple of cava vintners and a very long outdoor lunch. The first stop was a smaller family operation going back 3 generations. In the picture below we are standing inside an old wine tank that is no longer in service.

There is a hatch above the chamber that had a area to manually stomp the grapes with the workers feet for the winery The tour and tasting of the second winery included the caves 30 meters below the surface Their maze of tunnels was the equivalent of 30 kilometers over 4 levels, it has the capacity of 9,000,000 bottles. There was a train for us to ride around to view the inventory. I learned that in a dark tunnel, on a little train, taking sharps was making me motion sick.
We had our last dinner in Barcelona at the first restaurant we went to on Tuesday. We had discovered a gelato shop, Anita’s, that was open until midnight, and when we got there at 11:00 it was a line waiting out the door 20 people deep.
